ABOUT

Kim Christensen, speech therapist in Santa Barbara, owner of SF Speech for Kids and The Speech Room.

Kim Christensen is a Santa Barbara local who recently moved back "home" from San Francisco, where she lived and worked since 2004. After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2003 with high honors and high distinction, Kim pursued her graduate education in Communicative Disorders at San Francisco State University where she earned her Master's degree 2007 and began her career as a speech-language pathologist. In 2012, she founded SF Speech for Kids!, a bustling pediatric speech/language therapy clinic in San Francisco. Kim and her growing family have settled in Santa Barbara, and Kim is excited to reinvent her practice on a smaller scale. Kim has extensive pediatric experience serving ages 1-18, as well as adults with various disabilities and communication disorders. Kim is passionate about working with individuals with autism and their families, nonverbal children and adults, and children with complex communication disorders. Variety is one of the things Kim loves most about this profession and she has recently added accent reduction classes to her offerings, which allows her to bring her skills to professionals and students who have a goal of improving their English pronunciation. Whatever the communication goal may be for yourself or your child, give Kim a call!
